TDS Project

Time Dependent Simulation Codes for Complex EPS Applications

This project focuses on the development and application of computer simulation tools that are used in the modeling and time dependent analysis of complex Electrical Power Systems.

A complete summary description of this TDS Project for EPS Applications can be found here.

The TDS computer tools package has been independently created using the older Power Tools Suite (PTS) tools package as a model, which was developed during the past several years at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company.

The capabilities and results of the TDS tools are very similar to those of the PTS tools, and many of the EPS Component Models are nearly the same. The TDS codes and tools do not contain any data, models, codes, or information that is considered to be proprietary to PTS or to Lockheed Martin, or to any other business or company. A summary of all of the information that has been publically released regarding the PTS tools, including conference papers that describe various models, and results can be found here.

Additional capabilities and results of these new TDS tools concerning both detailed solar array and battery cell modeling were presented at The Aerospace Space Power Workshop in April 2012. The Powerpoint presentation that was presenetd is located here, and an explanation guide that discusses each slide is located here.
