As a short historical summary:
This organization was founded by two students of the original "I AM Group". They became dismayed with that group after Mr. Ballard passed on (in 1939), and when that group decided NOT to release these teachings to mankind, as per the Ascended Master's formal requests. As a result of the "I AM Group" becoming more and more private, another group started by itself that claimed to be receiving this exact same material independently!!! This new group began the work of the "I AM Group" all over again from the ground-floor, and became known as the "Bridge To Freedom Group". These two students (among others) left the original "I AM Group" to join this new group. Then later, these two students saw that the same destructive pattern was again happening within the Bridge To Freedom Group, and that the material was becoming "added to" or "expanded" by human intervention. In order to keep the material pure, as it was given by the Ascended Masters to first the "I AM Group" and later to the "Bridge To Freedom Group", they started The Ascended Masters Teaching Foundation in Mt. Shasta, CA, and pledged to publish only the original teachings to all mankind. Many books are now available, some for the first time ever this year (CY 2000), and many are now available in foreign languages!!! Others are currently in translation.
